# Errors

> Stable status codes and fail-closed behavior.

| Status    | Meaning                                        |
| --------- | ---------------------------------------------- |
| 400 / 422 | Invalid request or fail-closed evidence gate   |
| 401       | Missing, invalid, revoked, or expired key      |
| 402       | Insufficient credits                           |
| 403       | Missing scope or enterprise connector          |
| 404       | The requested serving record is absent         |
| 429       | Minute or daily limit exceeded                 |
| 502 / 503 | Reviewed upstream evidence service unavailable |

All non-success statuses refund reserved credits.
